Weekly Market Overview 20-24/12/2021

In the last report of the year we read about the movements of the markets in Greece, Europe, America and Asia last week. In Greece, the General Index ended last week with gains, gaining the 890 units affected by macroeconomic data and forecasts for accelerated growth in 2022. European markets showed mixed signs, mainly affected by the new mutation and inflation concerns. In America, markets secured steady gains for the week, focusing more on good macroeconomic data than on the rapid spread of the new mutation. In the shares section you will find the analysis for Nikola Corporation. In Asia, Chinese markets are experiencing increased volatility which reflects the destabilized real estate market and slowing growth. The Japanese market present similar moves, with new restrictive measures against covid undermining the prospects for recovery. In commodities, oil prices are moving upwards supported by the decline in production and expectations for increased demand, while the upward trend of gold also remains uninterrupted due to fears of inflation.
