Weekly Market Overview 14-18/12/2020
In our last weekly report for 2020 you can read about developments in the Greek, European, US and APAC markets. In the Greek market, the General Index broke the 800-point barrier, while the Greek economy’s outlook remains uncertain due to the pandemic crisis. European markets ended with mixed trends as banks observe a sharp rise of their NPEs this year, while EU’s post-Brexit trade deal negotiations with the UK seem to have come to a standstill. In the US, vaccinations began last Monday, still in anticipation of the new recovery fund worth of $ 900 bn. In our stocks analysis you will find analyses of Philips NV and FedEx Corp., with the first announcing the acquisition of BioTelemetry Inc. and the latter issuing its Q3 results. In APAC markets, China – and not only – imposed fines on Chinese companies because of its antitrust policy. Finally, in commodities, crude oil prices climbed to 9-month highs.
